Greatest Characters Of All Time

Aria

Severus Snape

"Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.
“After all this time?”
“Always,” said Snape.”

Those of who, who know him like me, will consider him as a hero. Those who are still in the process of reading the books, it is best for you to stop reading this subsection and jump to the next character cause you might get a hell lot of spoilers. Now to those who don't know him, I can honestly say you missed a great opportunity to know him. Severus Snape is my favorite character from the Harry Potter series. He is a character you will hate throughout the books and end up falling for him hard. Snape is one of those heroes, or you can call him an antihero, who did many awful things in the past but died doing the right thing.

Snape is described as a thin man with sallow skin, a large, hooked nose, and yellow, uneven teeth. He has shoulder-length, greasy black hair which frames his face, and cold, black eyes. He was selected by the sorting hat in Slytherin house, always known for its followers of Death Eaters. He was a death eater too and also was a very trusted person of Voldemort, also known as You Know Who/He Who Must Not Be Named.

He was always neglected by his parents as a kid and always wanted to just run away from them. That's how he met Lily Potter, the love of his life. They became good friends and went to Hogwarts together. They were separated by the sorting hat and that's how Lily met the love of her life, James Potter. Once again Snape was neglected and to be honest he spoiled his friendship with lily due to jealousy, things we do in love. James and Lily got married and had Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived. Voldemort was given a prophecy that he will be killed by a kid born at the end of July by someone who has escaped him thrice. Snape found out that Lily matches the criteria and that Voldemort is going to kill the family. He tried to save her but couldn't.

Snape might seem a bitter guy throughout the series towards Harry and his father. And No one ever expected to him protecting harry the whole while. Everyone expected the opposite due to his hatred towards James. But no matter how perfect the day is, it has to end. The same way, his hatred somehow kept showing up to harry. He promised to protect lily's son and he died for it. Always is what defines Severus snape and his eternal love for lily.

It was a real shocking and regretful moment for everyone when we found out the real snape. I just wish he gave harry a chance and have a good bonding with him instead of misunderstandings. And I completely agree to harry when he said to his son that snape was the bravest man we all ever knew. He is the reason I would love to be a Slytherin. I am just gonna end by saying that you don't have to be a hero to be liked and loved by everyone. just be human, do mistakes but correct them when it is necessary.

Darth Vader

“When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master.”

Darth Vader/ Anakin Skywalker is an iconic villain of the Star Wars franchise. He was voted as the greatest villain beating The Joker, Loki, and Lord Voldemort. Like every other villain, he is hated but at the same time is inspired by and loved. As a person, you will pity him for his terrible childhood (which in my defense every villain has otherwise why turn evil). As a grown man, a husband, you would relate to him for fighting till his last breath to protect that one thing he loves the most, his partner and his unborn child, or should we say, children. I feel bad for him because he thought his child, luke was dead that is he was never born until he was supposed to either kill him or bring him to the dark side. It is even more disturbing to realize that Vader never knew he had a daughter too named Leia.

Darth Vader is described as the towering, black-clad and His head is covered by a mechanical helmet, and the sound of his breathing is an eerie, mechanical hiss. Anakin Skywalker was a good-hearted Jedi and was the hero of the clone wars. He was considered the most powerful Jedi in the universe and that he was the chosen one, who would bring balance to the force.

Anakin was born from the force itself and that Anakin was a creation of Midi-chlorians, which is why he had such a high concentration. He grew up and eventually went on Jedi training which was his destiny. He fell in love with Padmé Amidala. They had to keep their marriage a secret because Anakin would've been kicked out of the Jedi Order since attachment - let alone a marriage - was against the Jedi Code.

Later she revealed to him that she was pregnant. Even though it was a joyous moment, they feared that this would bring out the truth of their marriage. Things got worse when Anakin started having nightmares that Padmé would die after giving birth to their child. He couldn't adjust to the fact that he might lose his wife, he turned to the dark side, as they promised him they would find a way to save her which was clearly a lie. Rest is the story for you readers to discover how he loses his child only to find him later alive and help his son bring himself back to light.

Voldemort

Tom Marvolo Riddle: Voldemort is my past, present, and future.

Oops sorry death eater for calling your lord by his name. But as Hermoine said fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself. Tom Marvalo Riddle or commonly known as He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named or You-Know-Who. Cannot mention Voldemort's name on the list because well no one calls him that. He is one of the baddest and merciless supervillains and is from The Harry Potter merchandise. I really like him because its a really dark character the kind that's gonna make you hate him but believe me its worth it.

Voldemort can be described as someone having pale skin, a chalk-white, skull-like face, snake-like slits for nostrils, red eyes, and cat-like slits for pupils, a skeletally thin body and long, thin hands with unnaturally long fingers although Tom Marvolo Riddle was handsome and tall with pale skin, jet black hair, and dark brown eyes. He could charm many people with his looks. The transformation into his monstrous state is believed to have been the result of creating his Horcruxes and becoming less human as he continued to divide his soul.

Voldemort was an orphan as his father left him and his mother when he discovered his mom, Merope Riddle, was a witch. His mother died after giving birth to him. As a kid, he never knew who his parents were until he came to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. He hated his name because it contained his muggle(non-magic) father's name so he made his own name out of Tom Marvolo Riddle into Lord Voldemort. A name he wanted everyone to fear in the future. In his school life, he found out how to make Horcruxes, Which are basically an object created by dark magic to create immortality by splitting the soul into separate pieces. He divided his soul into 7 pieces earlier and then unknowingly one more time which was a part of harry himself.

In his school days, when he was trying to find who he was, he found that he was the descendant of Salazar Slytherin himself. He set out to complete the wish of him which was opening the chamber of secrets and setting the monster out, that was born in the chamber and had the ability to live for thousands of years, to kill all the muggle-born students. The monster was a basilisk which was a snake that could kill people by just looking in its eyes and could petrify anyone if looked at indirectly in its eyes. As he was descendants of Slytherin, he could talk to snakes and knew parseltongue.

His reign was awful as anyone who dared to go against him, he would kill the person. No one ever survived the killing curse, Avada Kedavdra, except harry potter himself. And that's the story of harry potter. Voldemort tried to kill harry potter, as a prophecy was made before his birth that he would be the one to kill Voldemort.

There's more to Voldemort you can think of but that's for you to discover. I enjoyed every bit of the discovery of his life because it was fascinating to see how his life was and why he became what he became. I don't support the thought that just because you have a terrible childhood that would allow you to be bad. But you cannot help feel bad for him despite his merciless acts. He is an example of how the power ruins someone to an extent they are ready to lose themselves. And it is proved that by his quote "There is no good and evil. There is only power, and those too weak to seek it". What a person is like is defined by what they carry in their heart and mind. If you carry hatred, revenge, division in your heart, you would turn out to be him or maybe worse.
