The Books vs The Movies

Aria

"Books and movies are like apples and oranges. they both are fruit, but taste completely different." - Stephen King

Fault in our stars - John Green

"I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”

It is always difficult to create exactly what's in the book as the book might belong to a different era, past or future. Although I agree books are always better than movies. But some make it great in the end. Fault in our stars is one of those rare films which made it very close to the actual representation of the book. If you enjoyed reading the book, the movie is just gonna re-enhance the characters and will give a better understanding of the book. The best thing about the movie is not only the perfect presentation of the characters but also the exact wordings from the book. Not many movies make it possible to have exact wordings as the books. In my opinion, the movie gave justice to the book. I loved the movie personally because it touched my heart exactly the way the book did. Till the end, I was captivated in the movie. Even though I knew how it is going to end. My mind did not waver.

Harry Potter - JK Rowling

“You dare use my own spells against me, Potter? It was I who invented them – I, am the Half-Blood Prince!”

Harry Potter is a classic that everyone would have read. And must be excited when the movies were to be released. Its always fun to watch our favorite books be converted into movies as long as they don't destroy the actual essence of the books. Having our thoughts and visuals of a character have a definite representation is fascinating as well as challenging.

When we think of harry potter, we cannot think of the series as a whole because its impossible to summarize 7 books in 1 sitting. But one thing common in all books and movies is that movies contained the essential details necessary for building up the greatest series of all time. Also, many of the book fans felt that the movie did not give as much information as the books did. It lacked many details that build up the scenarios. It did bring out the same level of emotions as the books through effects and background music.

A Walk To Remember - Nicolas Sparks

“Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it.”

A walk to remember is a novel by Nicolas Sparks, an author known for his love stories. Personally, it is my anytime book. And I had really high expectations from the movie but It did not match up to the book. It did present the key details that kept the story complete but not the same way the book engaged and captivated us in it. The book is based on a 17-year old girl, named Jamie, who has leukemia and is a very religious person. She always believes the good in people despite people not liking her, she always is ready to volunteer. She falls in love with Landon, a totally different person, and the narrator of the story. The book had many aspects that would make a person weak, especially to the people going through this or have been through this process of losing their loved one. Same way, Jamie's father is not discovered well in the movies even though his pain is equally important to that of the narrator. But the movie gives out the story nicely, so it is always fun to watch movies than reading books on some lazy days. I do agree the book is written in a more structured manner than the movies. But I am confident that I would watch the movie again and again.
